The 3000 Club's transformative initiative, Market On the Move (MOM), unveiled its mission in November 2010 and has since evolved into a vital resource for those grappling with food insecurity in our community.  Beyond addressing immediate needs, MOM has empowered individuals of means to contribute to our shared welfare through the "Neighbors Helping Neighbors" initiative.

To sustain and broaden the impact of this crucial endeavor, we rely on the benevolence and backing of compassionate individuals like yourself, as well as organizations and companies seeking to make a meaningful difference in the community.

November 2025

Greetings,

For over a decade, Market On the Move (MOM), a program of The 3000 Club, has been a vital resource for families across Metro Phoenix, Tucson, and surrounding communities. By rescuing millions of pounds of fresh produce that would otherwise go to waste, we make healthy, quality food available to thousands of parents, seniors, and working families for a minimal donation.

Our life-changing mission now faces an unprecedented double crisis demanding your immediate partnership:

  • Federal Funding Disruption: The current government shutdown has instantly eliminated income and access to essential benefits for many households, causing a rapid, significant surge in the number of families relying on MOM for sustenance.

  • Operational Damage: Compounding this surge, a devastating fire recently destroyed our Tucson warehouse, severely impacting our cold storage and distribution capabilities just when community need is at its peak.

To sustain our critical mission and quickly stabilize our operations during this dual challenge, we are hosting our yearly MOM Event on Saturday, December 13, 2025. We are inviting communityminded partners like you to become an official sponsor and help us overcome this setback.

Your generous commitment will directly fund our emergency response and strengthen our ability to serve the newly affected families:

  • Crisis Logistics & Recovery: Cover essential fuel, vehicle, temporary warehouse, and replacement distribution equipment costs necessary to recover from the fire damage and rapidly scale service.

  • Maximize Outreach & Affordability: Help those families  impacted by the shutdown while ensuring we maintain our nominal donation level so that food remains accessible to all low-income households.

  • Sustain Core Mission: Rescue and transport thousands more pounds of fresh produce.

Thank you for considering this request and for being a champion of food rescue, sustainability, and community care. Together, we can ensure that even in the face of a double crisis, compassion remains fully operational.

With appreciation,

Ethel Luzario
